Undercover S.K.A. - 1990's
I played with the ska band Undercover S.K.A., led by guitarist and singer Bob Glynn, for a couple of years in the mid-90s, and we were gigging pretty much every Friday and Saturday night at Bay Area clubs. We also played (and packed) some of the best venues in town including Slim's, the Great American Music Hall and Maritime Hall. We also (oddly) opened for Jefferson Starship one time, who were billing themselves as "Jefferson Cybership" that night, at the Maritime Hall, but I didn't hang out for their set and we didn't get to meet them. We did a small tour of the northwest as well, and played in venues around Oregon and Seattle. I hooked them up with Eddie Sassin whose drumming really lit a fire under the band. I had a lot of fun playing with those guys and it was a good education into ska music. Happily I just found a few videos on YouTube from a TV gig we did back in 1995...
