Pure Honey

Dan Daniels and his wife Alicia had a kind of funk / soul / Motown band with a horn section that also included the excellent Zac Johnson on tenor, who also did the horn charts. I played just a couple gigs a year on baritone sax with these guys, usually outdoor festivals in the East Bay. I took a piano lesson with Dan at some point and he's a very knowledgeable pianist. Pure Honey have been a fixture on the East Bay music scene for years and I always enjoyed playing with them. We didn't rehearse much and it was never quite as tight as it might have been, but it was always great fun.
