Ben Brussell

I met Ben Brussell at San Francisco State University around 1987. He is a composer, mandolinist, violinist, trumpeter, singer, bandleader and DJ. We worked together for over twenty years on many gigs all around the Bay Area in his band Klezmania of San Francisco, a band which is still going strong, amidst all his other interesting musical projects. I really appreciated Benny hiring me for Klezmania; this experience taught me about the vast and beautiful world of Klezmer music and helped open my ears to other great world music genres. I've got a lot of respect for Benny, he's extremely organized and always acted with consummate professionalism throughout the time we worked together. He's a dear friend who's passionate about his music.
