Rafael Manriquez

For a number of years since the 1990s I had the privilege of working with a great Chilean musician named Rafael Manriquez. Our main work together was the CD "Canto al Poeta" which we created as a tribute to the poet Pablo Neruda. Rafael has rightly been described as "one of the leading exponents of Latin American music in the San Francisco Bay Area for over twenty years." I was deeply saddened to hear in in 2013 Rafael passed away in Berkeley, California. His life and music is commemorated in an annual festival.
