Dec. 2025 – holiday sax quartet video!

Just in time for the holidays, I bring you my latest sax quartet experiment… my arrangement of George Frideric Handel’s “Messiah Overture, Pt. 1 – No. 1” (composed 1741).

Performed by David Barrows (Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Baritone Saxophones); audio production and video editing by David Barrows; sound recording © 2025 David Barrows & Hounds of Renown Music (ASCAP / PRS).

This ticks a number of boxes for me – experimenting with 4-part arranging and studying a bit of Handel’s masterpiece; improving my skills in audio and video production using Apple’s Logic Pro X and Final Cut Pro; a first try with a physical green screen (which admittedly still needs a little work); plus having to learn 4 tricky saxophone parts… thus continuing this series of “Dave-tet” sax quartet videos. A good all-around workout! But I feel proud of this one. I hope you like it. Happy Holidays folks! xo dB
